Hi guysss, is anyone loving the ongoing ruffle trend? Everywhere I turn I see ruffles and I am loving it, ruffle details always look so prettayyyyy. Anyways in this post I am wearing a white tee shirt with ruffle details along with a midi skirt made from a vintage As0-Oke fabric. For those who don’t know, Aso-Oke is a fabric worn by the Yoruba people of Western Nigeria and is regarded as a top notch fabric. I particularly love the richness of the fabric and have experimented with it in the past, see my post HERE.
Recently, my aunty gave me this gorgeous Aso-Oke fabric (she wore it for her Yoruba traditional wedding about 25 years ago). I decided to get creative and got a tailor to sew a midi skirt and embellish it with gold pearls. I absolutely love how the skirt turned out. Now thinking of other fun ways to rock this one of a kind piece :o).
Wearing ruffle detail Tee Shirt from Finery.Com (my latest online obsession). It is sold out but you can get a similar look HERE. Also wearing Aquazurra Disco Thing which perfectly compliments my skirt.
